The reviewers have recommended publication. I would like the authors to clean up a few technical corrections listed below (all line numbers refer to revised manuscript). The manuscript will not need further editor review.

- The title has been changed in to include elevation information ("(1465 m a.s.l.)". I don't see this is necessary and would recommend removing it from teh title, but I leave this to the opinion of the authors.
- Abstract, Line 25: "suggested their likely significance". The 'their' pronoun is ambiguous here. I suggest making more concrete for a better read.
- Abstract, Line 38: change to "will help elucidate"
- Line 75: "Latter" is ambiguous here. Provide a specific reference in the sentence.
- Line 125: The "non-orographic and non-precipitating" clause added is information, but the word placement is incorrect. One option would be to put this clause in a following sentence, in which case I would add half a sentence concisely stating how the authors know these statements to be true. This was one of the comments by a reviewer (page C2578).
- Line 130: No space between sentences.
- Line 132: Another reviewer (page C2566) suggested including briefly more technical information on the sampling set-up. The authors added a reference, but an additional one sentence summary could be very useful here.
- Line 139: "judge" should be "judged"
- Line 139: "it" is ambiguous and should be made clearer
- Line 209: "felt" should be "fell"
- Line 371: No space between sentences.
